07-Aug-2002 | DRAFT; Part I, Pref, Intro, Chap '1-Securing Commitments for Children', 2-Strategic Planning for Follow-Up', 3-'Global Goals To National Realities' From the World Summit to the SS: Mobilizing a "First call for Children"; UNICEF Chronicle | History Project Files to Carol Watson's 'Source' document for book with accompanying CD-ROM for the SSC 2002 Carol Watson; 08/02/02 10:21 AM Dear Howard and Achara, Attached, as discussed, is the full set of files for my revised draft of the history project document - the 'source' document - which is now with John Williams for editing. My document is not yet intended for wider circulation within UNICEF - as there are still a few outstanding issues (see attached file on 'final notes') that will need to be clarified/decided upon before I can finalize the text. This, hopefully can be done in September when I'm back from September. As you know, it is John's edited document that will be the final 'public' document for this project, and, as I understand it, it is his document which is to be subject to careful review from a small team to be assembled under Kul and June. Some of the points that come out during that review will no doubt be helpful in making the small adjustments needed to the text of the 'soruce' document. As I also mentioned to you, I have just learned yesterday that Christian Privat will be working on the CD-ROM for this project - to be coordinated by June. I am not sure what instructions he has been given and have not been drawn into any further discussions on this.I just hope it is clear that the CD-ROM will be pegged, in the final analysis - to John's document which - as noted, will be the one submitted to the most extensive review. Anyway, here are the files. have a great August, and looking forward to seeing you all on my return in September. |
