young Czech girl, and was printed just for internal staff use ?
in 1949, a young Czech schoolgirl drew a card to thank UNICEF for
food supplies sent to the children of her
village in the grim winter of 1946-7. Privately
printed by the UNICEF staff at Lake Success, the
first greeting card
launched a world-wide fund raising activity
providing about one third of UNICEF's annual income today....
