UNICEF online holdings provide documents of historical interest for
researchers. Laid side to side the archives roughly span 7,000
miles, or one fourth of the earth's surface, and only a subset is
available online. The site does not search UNICEF's Archives
database itself, but upon request, records of interest are scanned
as searchable PDFs into the database and posted
for viewing and downloading. Milestones, in-depth monographs of
UNICEF's history and 26 years of UNICEF Annual Reports are also available.
Online Holdings
Online PDF
holdings are the result of previous research requests which have
been posted and represent only small subset of the information
available in the UNICEF archives database.
The postings consist
of documents that are either (1) more than 20 years old or (2)
publicly accessible at the time of issuance. All PDF documents
appear in their original format and have an OCR (Optical Character
Recognition) layer and can be searched for key words. Non-PDF
references contain lists of boxes, folders or individual items in
the archives that can be queried for original paper documents and
scanned to be posted on the website as PDFs upon request.
